The dogwood flower stands for endurance, for durability through all seasons. Love undiminished by adversity. Though we know them mostly as shrubs, dogwoods in the wild may tower, growing to seventy-five feet. In spring, the dogwood explodes into white bloom; in summer, it offers fine, open shade and clusters of red fruit. The dogwood sends it’s long stems underground; from these subterranean stems, the new tree grows.
